Two Tajiks detained in Russia for alleged recruiting into IS

St Petersburg, May 21 (IANS) Two Tajiks were detained for allegedly promoting terrorism in St. Petersburg, Russian Investigative Committee's local press-centre reported on Friday.

They are suspected in recruiting local residents into Islamic State (IS), the terrorist organisation responsible for numerous victims and refugees from Syria, Xinhua quoted the local press-centre as saying.

Religious literature and symbols, as well as other evidence, were seized earlier in St. Petersburg during the investigation of this criminal case.
