New Delhi, May 20 (IANS) The central and Delhi government on Friday announced monetary relief for the kin of slain NDMC law officer Mohammad Moin Khan.
While Home Minister Rajnath Singh announced an ex gratia of Rs.25 lakh, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced Rs.1 crore to the bereaved family.
Singh, while condoling the death of Khan, a deputy law officer in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), called him "a dedicated and honest employee of NDMC". He also noted that the Delhi Police apprehended all the seven accused in the murder case within 48 hours of the crime.
Khan, 58, was shot dead outside his house in south Delhis Jamia Nagar on May 16.
The minister assured of support to Khan's family. The NDMC, on the directions of the home ministry, has offered a job to Khan's wife on compassionate grounds.
NDMC employees, in solidarity with Khan's family, have decided to contribute their one-day salary to it, an official statement said.
