Gurgaon, May 20 (IANS) Director Seema Bhargava Pahwa is paying a tribute to legendary playwright Bhisham Sahni with her play "Bhishmohtsav", based on his short stories like "Oob" and "Yaadein". The play features noted actors Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah and Manoj Pahwa.

Apart from being a playwright, Sahni, the younger brother of actor Balraj Sahni, was a distinguished Hindi fiction writer, translator, teacher and polyglot. His works reflect his unflinching commitment to India's pluralist ethos and secular foundations.
He penned satirical short stories and some great novels such as "Tamas", "Madhvi", "Basanti", "Kadiaand" and many more. He also played a vital role in spreading political awareness through his work in the IPTA (Indian People's Theatre Association).
