Mumbai, May 20 (IANS) Actor Sandeep Bharadwaj hopes that his film "Veerappan", directed by Ram Gopal Varma creates a similar boost to his career as Varma's another film "Satya" had done for actor Manoj Bajpayee.
"What 'Satya' did for Manoj Bajpayee, I have similar hopes that this film will do a lot for my career... I'm a big fan of Ramu sir's film 'Satya', Manoj Bajpayee was there and it was not his first film. But despite that, whenever there is a talk about his films, 'Satya' is at the top of the list. So even I have got a lot of inspiration that it is my first film and it is with RGV sir," Bharadwaj said, in an interview.
Varma's 1998 underworld drama "Satya" is considered one of his finest works. The film, is often considered the turning point in Manoj's career, though he was not the hero of the film, had received the National Award for Best Supporting Actor.
About "Veerappan" as compared to "Satya", he said, "Just like 'Satya' film, I consider this film of a great level and I really liked doing this film. A lifetime thank you to RGV sir."
Bharadwaj is a graduate from the National School of Drama and will be seen playing famous dacoit Veerappan from South India in the film. He has already acted in the Kannada version of the film, "Killing Veerappan".
About his look, which obviously resembles Veerappan, Bharadwaj said, "When I saw the trailer for the first time, I was shocked, 'how could I look so scary?' because I'm completely opposite to Veerappan. I talk to very few people and interact very less and am an introvert. And he can commit a crime anytime and anyhow. So it was a tough situation."
Regarding the experience of working with Varma, he said, "It was an outstanding experience. There are very few people like RGV sir, an extremely crystal mind, crystal thought and is very clear and sharp about everything."
"I don't think anyone else can brief actors so well, that if they have done 80 percent homework, it directly doubles with his brief. Working with him is a dream for every actor but for me, this is more than a dream," he added.
"Veerappan" also stars Sachiin Joshi, Usha Jadhav and Lisa Ray.
