Olympic tickets go on sale for swimming, basketball, athletics

Rio de Janeiro, May 19 (IANS) Tickets for Olympic basketball, swimming and athletics have been put on sale, Rio 2016 organisers have said.

Fans have the chance to buy tickets to the events -- which include finals -- on the official Rio 2016 website from 12 p.m. local time on Thursday, reports Xinhua.

Tickets are priced at $14 for basketball, $29 for athletics and $46 for swimming.

Every Thursday, the Rio 2016 organising committee puts on sale batches of tickets for sessions that were previously unavailable.

The Rio 2016 Olympics will be held from August 5 to 21 and the Paralympics from September 7 to 18.
