Chandigarh, May 19 (IANS) Heat wave conditions continued in Haryana and Punjab on Thursday with most places in both states recording maximum temperatures of over 43 degrees Celsius.
Haryana's Hisar town was the hottest in the region at 46 degrees Celsius, four degrees above the average, while Patiala was the hottest in Punjab with a high of 44.4 degrees.
Ambala city in Haryana recorded a high of 43.7 degrees, weather department officials said here.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 41.9 degrees, four degrees above average.
Sikh holy city Amritsar and industrial city Ludhiana in Punjab recorded 43.8 and 43.5 degrees each.
Met officials have said that the heat wave will continue and weather will largely remain dry over the next few days.
