Slight intensity quake in India-Bangladesh border region

New Delhi, May 17 (IANS) An earthquake, classified as of slight intensity, shook the India-Bangladesh border area in West Bengal on Tuesday afternoon, the IMD said.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temblor, with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter Scale, struck the region at around 3.42 p.m.

"The epicentre of the earthquake was at 8 km depth at 26.2 north latitude and 88.8 east longitude along India (West Bengal)-Bangladesh boder region,” said the quake report on the IMD website.
