Los Angeles, May 18 (PTI) Actress Margot Robbie is set to star in and produce a "Suicide Squad" spin-off movie.
The 25-year-old actress' character Harley Quinn will lead a cast of DC Comics' female heroes and villains in the new film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Other characters from the comics who have been touted to appear in the all-female movie, include Batgirl and Birds of Prey.
Robbie was the impetus for the project. When she got the part for the movie, she dove deep into the comics to learn as much as possible about the character. In the process, she fell for DC's female characters.
She brought on the writer to help develop the project and brought it to Warner Bros, which snapped it up.
