New Delhi, May 17 (IANS) Independent music artiste Nucleya aka Udyan Sagar, who will enthrall Bollywood buffs in Madrid when he plays at the IIFA Stomp next month, says the world of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) has become huge globally, inluding in India.
IIFA Stomp will be held as a part of 17th edition of the annual International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) celebrations, to be held from June 23-26 this year.
"The EDM industry in the world is huge and it's great to see India putting itself on the map as well. I am glad to represent how far India has gotten with EDM music at IIFA Stomp with Mulafest," he said in a statement.
The IIFA extravaganza, which will bring together the best of Spanish and Indian culture, will host the IIFA Stomp in collaboration with MULAFEST Urban Trends Festival, organized by the MULA community and IFEMA with a line-up that underlines its electronic heart, with pioneering artistes from the international scene.
Indian DJs and musicians like Raghu Dixit Project, B.R.E.E.D, Midival Punditz featuring Karsh Kale and friends, and Nucleya, are all set to enthrall the audiences at MULAFEST.
Nucleya is excited for his association with IIFA.
"I'm super excited for this! IIFA Stomp with Mulafest is going to be a great event to be a part of and I look forward to meet some of my fans from Spain. It is a great way to not only visit a new city but meeting people who love my music from the world is always humbling and fun.
"Fans at IIFA Stomp can expect a high energy set and they should be ready to dance like crazy to some desi bass music. Each gig has a unique experience and a feel to it and the fans themselves add to the energy which is always fun," he said.
Starting off with producing electronic music almost 20 years ago with his band Bandish Projekt to coming up with his solo project - Nucleya, in 2008, life has changed for the better for this artiste. He credits his different influences in life for the course of his journey.
"My music has a lot of different influences such as Indian street music, south Indian music, Punjabi music, all mixed and mashed up with heavy bass music. I constantly love to experiment with new music.
"I was influenced by a varied bunch of artistes in my teenage years, from Intelligent Dance Music (IDM) producers like Funkstorung to pioneers of Indian film music such as Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar," he said.
And any advise for emerging talent?
"I will advise every creative professional to only focus on what they want to achieve. The way to achieve your goals might change along the way, but dont let anything change your goal, he said.
