Vasco, May 16 (IANS) India's U-17 football coach Nicolai Adam on Monday said his team needs to lessen on field mistakes to win against Tanzania in the AIFF Youth Cup at the Tilak Maidan here on Tuesday.
"We also have to be critical of ourselves. A 2-2 draw is not enough for what we have to play in the future," Adam was quoted as saying in an All India Football Federation (AIFF) release.
"The boys made too many mistakes. We need to avoid that. Thats how I see it, especially when you are the better Team on the field. You just cant afford that. So we need to improve on that aspect, he said.
The coach also said heat and humidity wont be factor for his boys has they have had enough time to acclimatise.
But we dont have any problems playing in this heat. We did our training sessions in Goa in the last five weeks in the heat. Its not a problem, he said.
Asked if he has had a look at their opponents, the German said,The boys look a lot like the players from South Africa when we played there. They are tall but not muscular. They played a very good match against USA. It will be another hard day for us, he said.
Tanzanian coach Bakari Shime, also insisted, that it will be a hard match against India.
India are the hosts. The hosts are always the strongest. On top of that, India have been preparing so long. It will be a hard game, Shime said.
