Mumbai, May 15 (IANS) Ace filmmaker Subhash Ghai has praised Padma Bhushan awardee Mohammed Zahur Khayyam, who has bequeathed some of his life earnings to the federation of film workers.
Khayyam is known for composing iconic music for films such as "Noorie", "Umrao Jaan", "Razia Sultan" and "Kabhi Kabhie".
"Hats off to legend and music composer Khayyam sahib for donating his lifetime earnings partly to federation of film workers through his trust," Ghai tweeted.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra calls Gulzar his 'Guru'
Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has called the legendary lyricist Gulzar his "guru".
The two were at the first screening of Mehra's upcoming film "Mirzya". The filmmaker took to Twitter on Sunday: "At the first screening of 'Mirzya' with my guru Gulzar and my beautiful producer/editor Bharath."
"Mirzya" introduces Saiyami Kher, Anuj Chaudhary as well as actor-producer Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan Kapoor.
Produced by CINESTAAN Film Co and ROMP Pictures, the film is directed by Mehra. Its story has been written by poet and lyricist Gulzar, with music created and crafted by the musical trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
