Will.i.am claims Michael Jackson called Prince a ‘meanie’

London, May 14 (IANS) Rapper has claimed that "King of Pop" Michael Jackson thought late singer Prince was a "meanie".

"The Voice" coach made the claims on his recent appearance on British comedy chat show The Graham Norton Show, saying it all started in Las Vegas, reports dailystar.co.uk.

"One time we had a show in Las Vegas and Michael called asking if he could come and what time it started. When I told him nine, he said, 'Oh rats. I’ve got to put the kids to sleep.

“I told him I was performing with Prince later on and that he should come along. It was a magnificent night with me, Chris Tucker and Michael Jackson watching Prince on stage," Will.i.am said.

The "It's my birthday" hitmaker said that Prince stepped on the stage and played the bass in "Michael's face".

“Michael invites me over for breakfast the next day and the first words he says as he opens the door are: ‘Why was Prince playing the bass in my face?’ When I said he was nice being nice, Michael said, ’No, he’s always been a meanie," he added.

Prince passed away last month while Jackson died in 2009.
