New Delhi, May 13 (IANS) The BJP on Friday alleged an "anti-national brigade" is operating in educational institutions of the country and sought a high level enquiry on their activities and source of funding.
"The BJP is determined to expose the anti-national brigade operating in our educational institutions and bring them to justice," BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi said in a statement.
"The country demands a high level probe on their activities and a white paper on their motivations and source of funding," she added.
Lekhi's reaction came in the wake of revealations made by Hyderabad students union leader Rajkumar Sahu, who has resigned from Communist Party of India-Marxist's student wing SFI while questioning the motive of the Joint Action Committee (JAC), which is leading the Rohith Vemula campaign.
Sahu has accused the JAC of using the platform to target a few people and called for a probe into its funding.
He also accused the SFI of nurturing feeling of hatred in Rohith, a Dalit research student who committed suicide on January 17.
