Dehradun, May 11 (IANS) Celebrations erupted at the Congress office here on Wednesday as the central government told the Supreme Court that the Harish Rawat-led Congress government in Uttarakhand has a legislative majority and that President's Rule will be revoked.
Chief Minister Harish Rawat's supporters burst fire crackers in celebration of the floor test win.
Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi told the Supreme Court in New Delhi: "I've taken instructions that well revoke Presidents Rule today if this court allows us."
He also said that the Rawat government can take charge once the Presidents rule is revoked in the state.
On Tuesday, a floor test was held in the state assembly, and the results clearly indicated that the Congress had won.
