Beijing, May 12 (IANS) Chinese stocks opened lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.88 percent to open at 2,812.11 points.
The smaller Shenzhen index opened 1.19 percent lower at 9,664.28 points, Xinhua news agency reported.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was down 1.41 percent to open at 2,006.26 points.
