Rome, May 10 (IANS) German tennis player Philipp Kohlschreiber defeated Spaniard Inigo Cervantes 6-4, 6-2 in the first round of the Italian Open here on Tuesday.
World No.26 Kohlschreiber took one hour and 26 minutes to beat Cervantes in a game that highlighted his greater experience, reports Efe.
The German will face on Wednesday world No.5 Rafael Nadal of Spain, who fell in the semi-finals of the Madrid Open last week at the hands of Scottish Andy Murray.
