Gurgaon, April May 10 (IANS) Shivani Sharma is angry and she is mincing no words about it. After her three-year-old daughter Myra lost her thumb on April 28 at a daycare centre here, Sharma has now taken to the social networking site Facebook to target the creche.
Sharma, who works here in the cyber hub, posted scathing messages on Facebook accusing the Cherub Angel daycare centre and its owner of gross negligence. The messages have been shared 10,900 times till the last count.
"I want to report the utter negligence of daycare owner Archana Benjiwal and her staff in running and taking care of the kids. She has been the reason for our suffering from last week. I am sure she or her staff hadn't mentioned any of this to other parents because it is all her mistake," Sharma wrote on Facebook.
"I have already registered an FIR at police station 56 Gurgaon," she further said.
Sharma alleged that the daycare centre owner didn't even visit Myra to find out how she was dealing with the trauma.
The distraught mother also said that she will ensure that all parents are alerted by this incident so that no one else suffers.
She also alleged that creche owner Archana and her husband had promised to bear all the expenses of the girl's treatment but that now appears to be a false promise.
"...the real face of Archana and Prashant came to picture only after a day of this incident. Her husband came to our house on May 1, 2016 apologising and saying that they will completely bear the expense of all treatments as it is their mistake. But since then we have not seen nor heard from them," Sharma posted on Facebook.
According to Sharma, the plastic surgeon who was consulted said that the thumb cannot be repaired. The doctors have now set a time frame of six weeks to see what other procedure they can adopt.
Police have registered a case under sections 287 (negligent conduct with respect to machinery) and 338 (causing grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code at sector 55-56 police station.
Despite repeated attempts, the daycare centre owner did not respond to phone calls from IANS. She also closed down her Facebook page.
