Masaba Gupta launches first kidswear range on Flipkart

New Delhi, May 10 (IANS) Fashion designer Masaba Gupta, known for her quirky designs, on Tuesday launched her debut collection for kids eCommerce marketplace Flipkart.

The online portal will showcase her exclusive collection of this kidswear line on its platform for the age-group of 2 to 9 years, read a statement.

Masaba’s much awaited kidswear line is inspired by everything that kids love and has been designed keeping their comfort in mind.

Prints on the ‘spring-summer line 2016’ represents candies, chocolates, chirping birds that epitomises joy and energy on relaxed, flowy silhouettes. She has combined pastel and bright hues on soft flowy fabrics to ensure a never ending play time.

After launching her new line of designer bags ‘On Your Mark’ last year, Masaba focused all her attention on the kidswear line. The shoot for the campaign will be held at Adlabs Imagica in Mumbai soon.

Commenting on her new line of collection, Masaba said: “In comparison to women’s wear or menswear prêt lines, you don’t see attention being given to kidswear. We have tied up with Magic Fairy from Kolkata for the line. The idea was to take all the signature prints from the collection and mix it up with some new stuff.”

She added: “We are also doing few accessories like hair bands. There are basic T-shirts, dresses, for parties, many skirts and tops, pant sets and shorts. Wearing ‘Fun prints’ fused with ‘Masaba classics’, the rollicking collection is ready to hit the runway in the most spectacular fashion!”

Rishi Vasudev, vice president - fashion, Flipkart, also shared: “We are excited to launch Masaba Gupta’s debut kidswear line on Flipkart.

“This association strengthens Flipkart’s constant endeavour in consolidating the kids fashion industry in India and thereby enabling Masaba to cater to its clientele in Tier II and III cities as well who are increasingly shopping online.”

Flipkart launched the kids category last year to meet the increasing demand in this segment.
