Lucknow, May 9 (IANS) Photo-journalist Ravi Kanaujia was on Monday electrocuted at the Jhansi railway station while clicking photos during a professional assignment, police said.
Kanaujia, principal photographer of English daily The Indian Express, was in Jhansi on assignment from New Delhi to click the 'water train' that was the subject of a verbal spat beween the Uttar Pradesh government and the central government.
As he was trying to click a photo, he came in contact with overhead high-tension wires and died instantly.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav condoled his demise and announced a financial aid of Rs.20 lakh to the bereaved family.
