Srinagar, May 9 (IANS) Those raising non-issues like allotment of land for a Sainik Colony in Kashmir are actually enemies of peace and development, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said on Monday

Speaking to reporters here on the occasion of re-opening of the civil secretariat for the summer, Mufti talked about the contentious issue of allotment of land for setting up an ex-servicemen colony in Srinagar.

She said the government did receive a proposal from ex-servicemen belonging to the state for allotment of land for a Sainik Colony, but no land has been allotted.

"It is a proposal, among others, that the government keeps receiving from professionals. We have taken no decision on this issue yet."

The chief minister said those raking up superficial issues like this one are actually trying to create unrest to target this year's tourist season in the Valley.

"They are enemies of peace and development in Kashmir."

She reiterated that the agenda of the ruling coalition of PDP and BJP would be implemented to bring peace and development to the state.

She said her father late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed had taken the right decision by forming the coalition after the 2014 assembly elections since that was the only way forward to ensure equitable development of all the regions of the state.
