Madrid, May 7 (IANS) World no. 2 tennis player Andy Murray qualified for the Madrid Open final after battling past Spanish Rafael Nadal here on Saturday.
Title defender Murray defeated his Spanish opponent 7-5, 6-4 in two hours and 11 minutes, to repeat the past year's victory when he eliminated Nadal in the final, reports Efe.
Four-time tournament champion Nadal is the only player who won the title for two consecutive years, while Murray will seek to emulate the same achievement in Sunday's final where he will meet the winner of the match between Novak Djokovic and Kei Nishikori, who face each other later on Saturday.
