Panaji, May 6 (IANS) A trial court here on Friday sent Goa legislator Atanasio Monserrate, accused of "buying" a minor girl and raping her on multiple occasions, to three days in police custody.
The trial court also remanded the victim's mother in police custody for three days on charge of selling her minor daughter to Monserrate.
Monserrate was arrested on Thursday on charges of rape, trafficking and enslavement.
