Never thought Leicester will win EPL title: Coach

London, May 6 (IANS) Leicester City's Italian head coach Claudio Ranieri said no one could have imagined that he would guide the Foxes to their first ever English Premier League (EPL) title.

At a press conference held on Thursday, the Italian thanked his team, the club's owner, the staff and the fans, reports Efe.

"From the beginning I felt something special. Never could I imagine this, but it's good. We worked so hard," Ranieri said.

Leicester City were crowned the new EPL champions on Monday after second placed Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Leicester are seven points clear at the top with only two rounds of games to go.

"I think this is my karma because I fought so hard to achieve all my things -- it has a special flavour.

"I know all the players and all the managers in all the clubs worked so hard but only one wins -- and this year it happened to me," added the former Roma, Juventus and Chelsea coach.

The 64-year-old said he was confident none of his men will leave the team next summer.

The Foxes will play in the Champions League for the first time ever next season, while Ranieri denied that the club wants to sign "big names".

"I don't want big names here, I don't want to break the dressing room. My lads are special. Of course we have to buy some good players but whoever arrives must have the same spirit," he added.
