Shimla, May 4 (IANS) Temperatures across Himachal Pradesh fell sharply on Wednesday after widespread rains in most parts of the state. More showers have been forecast.
Shimla recorded a maximum temperature of 24.5 degrees Celsius, down from Tuesday's 25.4 degrees.
Kalpa, a picturesque town 250 km from here, recorded a maximum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius. It was 28.2 degrees in Dharamsala and 40 degrees in Una.
Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, said: "The maximum temperature has plummeted by 5-6 degrees in the state after moderate rain since Tuesday."
He said rain and thundershowers are likely to occur over mid and low hills of the state till Thursday.
