New Delhi, May 3 (IANS) The government has raised Rs.8,152 crore in the last fiscal by selling bonus debentures of power generator NTPC to the EPFO, parliament was told on Tuesday.
"The government has raised Rs.8,152 crore on account of sale of bonus debentures of NTPC to EPFO," Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
He said the government had raised a sum of Rs.23,997.29 crore in 2015-16 by divesting stake in various public sector undertakings, and further, an additional amount of around Rs.1,023 crore was realised as tax on account of buyback transactions undertaken by unlisted PSUs during 2015-16, he added.
