New Delhi, May 3 (IANS) Members of parliament and experts from concerned fields will discuss at length matters related to drought and agrarian issues, drinking water management and its problems and interlinking of rivers at a two-day workshop here from Wednesday, an official statement said.
The workshop is being organised under the auspices of the Speaker's Research Initiative of the Lok Sabha set up at the initiative of Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, said a Lok Sabha secretariat statement.
The deliberations will help lawmakers and other stakeholders to find solutions to the vexed problems, the release said.
Among others, experts including Mangala Rai, former secretary, agriculture research and education, S. Masood Hussain, director general, National Water Development Agency, Himanshu Thakkar of South Asia Network on Dams, Rivers and People, Anupam Mishra and Sopan Joshi from the Gandhi Peace Foundation, Farhad Contractor of 'Sambhava' and Indira Khurana of IPE Global will also attend the workshop, it said.
