‘Krishndasi’ to address water woes of Maharashtra on TV

Mumbai, May 3 (IANS) "Krishndasi", a TV show which narrates an untold story of the devadasi community, will throw light on prevailing water scarcity in Maharashtra, and will be spreading a message of water conservation by introducing a track around the issue.

In the new track, the lead cast Aryan (played by Shravan Reddy) and Aaradhya (played by Sana Amin Sheikh) will be seen going to houses of villagers in Krishnawati to explain the importance of water conservation and what measures one should take to save water, read a statement.

Sana shares that with the “initiative, we aim to bring about a change in our society in a small way”.

She said: “Maharashtra is facing serious drought issues and with the current track of the show, we aim to spread awareness about water conservation.”

Shravan said: “Our show deals with a lot of social issues and this time we decided to deal with a realistic situation. We hope this message is conveyed to everyone and it helps to make a difference.”

The episode of the show, which is aired on Colors channel, will telecast on Wednesday and Thursday.
