New Delhi, May 2 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday greeted the people of Israel and Poland on their National Day.
Sending his greetings to Israel President Reuven Rivlin, President Mukherjee said: "Our common commitment to the safeguarding of our democratic institutions and our shared values of liberty, freedom and equality have helped in forging a deep friendship between our two nations."
Mukherjee, who first visited Israel in 2015, expressed confidence in the discussion between the two countries, saying it would contribute to reinforcing ties and building new bonds of trust and partnership between people of the two countries.
"I am confident that our two countries will continue to achieve new heights in our bilateral cooperation for the benefit of our two peoples in the years to come," he said.
Sending greetings to Poland President Andrzej Sebastian Duda on the country's national day, the India president said the friendship between India and Poland is historic and time-tested.
"India is committed to further strengthening our bilateral ties in all spheres of collaborative activity.
"As our economic cooperation increases, we will be able to realise the great potential that exists in our mutually beneficial bilateral partnership," Mukherjee said while conveying progress and prosperity for Poland that celebrates its National Day on May 3.
