Bhubaneswar, May 2 (IANS) To attract foreign investment in Odisha, a delegation of state government officials and entrepreneurs will attend the Global Investment Meet at the Silicon Valley in the US from May 4 to May 7.
The team led by state Industry Minister Debi Prasad Mishra will have IT secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena, industry secretary Sanjiv Chopra, Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) managing director Sanjay Singh and officials from Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC), said a statement on Monday.
Besides, some entrepreneurs of Odisha are also part of the team.
"We would attend the global meet to highlight the investment opportunities in the state. Since several countries are participating in the meet, it would give us an opportunity to attract investment to the state," said the industry minister.
The team will attend various business-to-business meetings, and meet policy makers and investors at Silicon Valley.
The team will also visit the Facebook headquarters, the Plug and Play Incubator, and the Stanford University Incubator.
They will also discuss and take inputs regarding policies for start-ups.
The minister will also interact with people from the Odia community for Biju Patnaik's birth centenary celebrations at Santa Clara Convention Centre in San Fransicso, and discuss the development of Odisha.
