Mumbai, May 2 (IANS) Actor Manoj Bajpayee, who will be seen as a traffic constable in forthcoming thriller film Traffic, will be giving neon coloured florescent jackets, also called reflective jackets, to traffic constables here.
Traffic constables lead really difficult lives and have a very hectic schedule. During Ganpati or any festivals, they dont come home for five to seven days straight and do not get to see their families.
Paying respect to all the constables, this is a small gift from my end. I hope that these jackets help ensure safety of the man who is out there in the middle of the road controlling the traffic, so you can reach home on time, Manoj said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Manoj visited the traffic control room of Mumbai police on April 28 to personally meet and thank traffic constables. The actor went to observe their work pattern, which has over the years shown remarkable results.
"Traffic" tells the story of a traffic constable (Manoj) who spearheads a situation where a harvested heart has to be delivered to a patient in Pune for transplant, weaving his way through the heavy traffic in Mumbai.
Directed by Rajesh Pillai, the film also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Divya Dutta and Prosenjit Chatterjee
Traffic will release on Friday.
