Agra, May 1 (IANS) A pregnant woman and her nine-month-old daughter were crushed to death and the woman's husband was seriously injured when they were hit by a speeding truck here on Sunday afternoon, police said.
The accident took place at the Sultan Ganj crossing when the family was waiting to cross the road on a motorbike.
The driver of the speeding truck lost control of the vehicle and hit the motorbike.
The impact was so strong that the three people were dragged some 20 feet, before passersby managed to stop the vehicle.
The driver was arrested and the truck has been seized, police said.
The family members of the deceased protested at the Hari Parbat police station but senior police officers managed to pacify them.
