Chandigarh, May 1 (IANS) Heat wave conditions intensified on Sunday, with Haryana's Hisar town sizzling at 44.7 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal.
Heat wave conditions prevailed over Punjab and Haryana with maximum temperatures recorded at over 40 degrees at most places. The minimum was between 20 and 25 degrees.
Narnaul town in Haryana recorded a high of 42.3 degrees, weather department officials said here.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 41.1 degrees, four degrees above normal.
Ludhiana was the hottest in Punjab at 43.2 degrees. Amritsar and Patiala recorded highs of 42.3 and 41.9 degrees respectively.
Met officials said the heat wave will continue and weather will largely remain dry over the next 24 to 48 hours.
