Bhubaneswar, April 29 (IANS) The Odisha government has blacklisted 58 pharmaceutical companies for supplying sub-standard medicines since 2005, Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak told the state assembly on Friday.
Replying to a written question of BJP legislator Dilip Ray, Nayak said that 133 types of medicines supplied to the government-run hospitals by 168 pharmaceutical companies were found "not of standard quality".
Sources said sample tests are conducted by an accredited laboratory before bulk purchase of medicines are made by government-run hospitals.
