Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh), April 27 (IANS) A woman seer demanding equality with her male counterparts for undertaking 'shahi snan' (royal bath) and more facilities for her 'akhara' at the ongoing month-long Simhastha (Kumbh) mela here was arrested on Wednesday.

Pari akhara chief Trikal Bhavanta was arrested along with an associate on charge of breach of peace and sent to jail.

Police said Bhavanta on Tuesday threatened to take a 'samadhi' inside a 10-feet-deep pit in case Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan did not meet her demands within 24 hours.

However, she was arrested before the deadline ended.
