Rome, April 27 (IANS/AKI) A homeless man was fighting for his life in a Rome hospital on Wednesday after he was brutally beaten around the head with a blunt object.
The man, believed to be Italian, was attacked early on Wednesday in south Rome's Tuscolano district. The attack left him with a gaping head wound and he was admitted to the San Giovanni hospital in a critical condition.
Police were trying to identify the man and are investigating the attack, which they say may have occurred during an argument with another homeless person.
