New Delhi, April 27 (IANS) CISF personnel are provided three days of induction training and six days' computer-based training before their deployment at Delhi Metro stations, Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said on Wednesday.
"A training cell at CISF unit DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) provides training pertaining to searching and frisking of passengers in DMRC system on regular basis," Rijiju informed the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
"CISF personnel are provided three days induction training before deployment at Delhi Metro stations. In addition, a computer-based training of six days and training related to X-ray of baggage are also imparted," he said.
The minister said that at present, 6,242 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel are deployed at Delhi Metro stations.
The CISF handles security at 160 metro stations across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), including six Airport Express Metro stations.
