Berlin, April 26 (IANS) German football club Wolfsburg has terminated striker Nicklas Bendtner's contract with immediate effect.
The Bundesliga club on Monday said both sides were not satisfied with each other. The Dane joined Wolfsburg on a free transfer in the summer 2014 to score nine goals in overall 47 appearances and still had one year on his contract, reports Xinhua.
"We have promised us very much with the signing of Nicklas. However, after almost two years we came to the conclusion that neither our, nor his expectations were satisfied," Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs said.
"We therefore mutually agreed to terminate the cooperation now, which is the best solution for all."
Wolfsburg sit at present on a disappointing 10th place in the standings. Dieter Hecking's men clash with Borussia Dortmund at the 32nd round on Saturday.
