Munich, April 26 (IANS) Chilean star midfielder Arturo Vidal believes that Bayern Munich are "the best team in the world", adding that he wants to spend the rest of his football career with the five-time European champions.
The 28-year-old has become a crucial player for the Bavarian giants since joining from Juventus last year.
Bayern, who are expected to wrap up the Bundesliga title on Saturday when they host Borussia Monchengladbach, take on Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the European Champions League semi-final on Wednesday as they target a European and domestic treble.
"Thanks to all the effort I have put in over time I'm now at the best team in the world. I hope to remain here until I retire, Vidal was quoted as saying by ESPN FC.
Now I know my teammates. We are more than a group, we are like a family, and this gives me a lot of confidence.
Vidal has already won titles with Chile and Juventus. But, with a Bundesliga crown set to be added to the collection, the Champions League remains the one piece of silverware missing for the midfielder, who is sure his side can beat the likes of Atletico, Manchester City and Real Madrid to the title this term.
"I believe it's the most important title for a player, and I hope this year I can win it and continue to grow," Vidal, who finished as a runner-up with Juventus last season, said.
"I think Bayern is the favourites, because of the players we have, because of the manager we have, because of what he is doing, because Bayern always gives teams trouble in this stage of the Champions League, Vidal concluded.
