Caracas, April 26 (IANS) Venezuela has secured 65 Rio Olympics spots after wrestler Pedro Ceballos won at the World Olympic Qualifier held at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Ceballos on Monday clinched the Rio ticket after beating Ukranian Lyubomir Sgaliuk 12-4 in men's 86kg freestyle semi-finals, reports Xinhua.
Female wrestler Maria Acosta also got a ticket in Ulaanbaatar after defeating Belarus' Yauheniya Andreichykava 6-0 in the semi-finals.
Some of the most outstanding Venezuelan athletes will be part of the delegation including cyclists Angie Gonzalez, Hersony Canelon, Angel Pulgar and Cesar Marcano, who got their tickets at World Championships held in London.
Also, racewalker Richar Vargas, marathonist Yolimar Pineda and long distance runner Luis Orta are also Rio bound together with swimmers Andreina Pinto, Cristian Quintero, Carlos Claverie and Albert Subirats and divers Robert Paez and Jesus Liranzo.
