Munich, April 25 (IANS) German football champions Bayern Munich's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has said he is upset with how Schalke fans treat him since his departure from the club in 2011.
The German World Cup winner rose through the ranks of the Schalke youth academy but then shifted his allegiance to Bayern, when offered a better deal.
He has been on the receiving end of offensive chants when the two sides have met and Neuer says now the fans are crossing the line with their behaviour.
"I don't mind it if they whistle at me when I'm on the ball. But I cannot understand it when they insult me with the words they used," Neuer was quoted as saying by goal.com on Monday.
"Emotion is part of the game, but I find it incomprehensible when I hear people shout at me and call me a son of a w****.
"Everything that happened when I left Schalke for Bayern made me stronger as a person. It was quite an experience and it was not easy for me.
The 30-year-old added that joining Bayern was the best possible choice for him.
"But if you look at the career I have already had at Munich, it's clear that joining Bayern was the right choice for me."
