Madrid, April 22 (IANS) Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos said he enjoys the time when things go wrong for arch-rivals Barcelona.
Barcelona exited the Champions League after losing out to Atletico Madrid and then squandered a comfortable lead in the La Liga for Atletico and Real to crawl their way back into the title race.
The Catalan giants now have the same number of points with Atletico, while Real are just a point behind.
"Of course I enjoy things going badly at Barcelona. I like it because it benefits us," Ramos was quoted as saying by goal.com on Friday.
"I do not wish bad things on anyone, though. I enjoy their struggles for sporting reasons. Everything that is bad for Barcelona is good for Real Madrid."
The 30-year-old believes that Real beating Barcelona at Camp Nou in the El Clasico has led to their poor form.
"Us beating them at Camp Nou was a big blow for them. A Clasico is always about more than just three points. It is the game of the season. It was tough for them mentally," the 2010 World Cup winner said.
"They could have decided La Liga, but we reduced the gap instead. Of course, that leads to doubts.
"The league was theirs to lose. They have everything in their own hands, so you can say they lost the title if they don't win it," he added.
