Mumbai, April 22 (IANS) Oil and gas exploration company Cairn India on Friday said it posted a standalone net profit of Rs.347.18 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2016, against a net loss of Rs.1,044.13 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.
According to the audited financial results posted on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Cairn India earned a total income of Rs.1,466.76 crore in the quarter under review compared to Rs.1,665.74 crore posted in Q4 2014-15.
On a consolidated basis, the company's net loss rose to Rs.10,948.22 crore in Q4 2015-16 from Rs.240.82 crore in the year ago quarter.
Cairn India's standalone net profit for the year ending March 31, 2016 declined to Rs.853.53 crore from Rs.1,320.03 crore clocked in 2014-15.
On a consolidated basis, the company suffered an annual net loss of Rs.9,431.88 crore in 2015-16 against a net profit of Rs.4,479.6 crore in the last fiscal.
