Valencia (Spain), April 21 (IANS) Spanish football club Valencia on Thursday launched a campaign to help victims of the earthquake that took place in Ecuador and show solidarity with all those affected by the disaster.
In La Liga's Valencia-Eibar match played on Wednesday night, a minute of silence was observed for about 570 victims who died in the catastrophe, reports Efe.
A statement from the club said it invites everyone to cooperate in order to raise funds for aid for those affected by the earthquake in Ecuador.
For this purpose, the consul of Ecuador in Valencia, Gabriel Monge Fierro, was invited to attend the match in Mestalla Stadium and held a meeting with club president Layhoon Chan.
