Los Angeles, April 22 (IANS) Actor Idris Elba, who plays John Luther in Luther, says the crime drama series has got a lot of bad luck for a murder detective.
Theres a story line thats very challenging for him, very taxing. You know, hes got a lot of bad luck for a murder detective. He gets himself into it, Elba said in a statement.
Speaking about the fourth season, which only had two episodes, Elba said: But I definitely feel that these two episodes of the season are at par with the rest of the episodes that weve seen to date. But this one particularly challenges him (Luther) in a certain way.
Talking about Luthers relationship with Emma (Rose Leslie), Elba said: They hit it off pretty well, except, you know, Luther has to reign her ambition in a little bit.
I think Luther doesnt mind the company from Shaw but doesnt want to influence her too much, which he ends up doing. Luther has that, you know, if you work with Luther hes toxic, you know? How he works will seep through you. I think he likes her very much. I think he does get on with her.
