New Delhi, April 19 (IANS) No Indian was hurt in the Kabul suicide bombing on Tuesday that claimed at least 28 lives and left more than 300 injured, an official said.
All Indians here are safe, an Indian embassy staffer at the embassy in Afghanistan told IANS. Indian ambassador Manpreet Vohra could not be reached for further details.
The Indian embassy is located around four kilometres from the site of the explosion in Pul-e-Mahmood Khan area.
The deafening explosion was followed by heavy gunfire as Taliban militants launched an attack.
The intended target appeared to be a Secret Service Unit tasked with protecting VIPs, officials were quoted as saying. Some reports said gunmen managed to enter the unit's perimeter.
