Birmingham, April 19 (IANS) Aston Villa have suspended striker Gabriel Agbonlahor following accusations concerning his conduct last weekend, the club announced on Tuesday.
Reportedly, the 29-year-old was pictured with laughing gas canisters on the same day that Villa were relegated from the English Premier League.
The striker was already sidelined and had been put on a fitness program by caretaker manager Eric Black.
"Aston Villa Football Club has today suspended Gabby Agbonlahor pending an internal investigation," a club statement read.
"This is following allegations concerning his conduct at the weekend. There will be no further comment from the Club in relation to this matter until the investigation has been completed."
Villa are presently are at the bottom of the table after collecting just 16 points from 34 games.
