New Delhi, April 18 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday threatened strict action against taxi drivers after complaints they were over-charging taking advantage of the odd-even traffic scheme.
Strict action, including permit cancellation and impounding (of) vehicle, to be taken against taxis which charge more than government prescribed rates, Kejriwal tweeted.
Many commuters on Monday posted on social media about the hiked taxi charges on the first full working day of the second phase of the odd-even scheme aimed at battling pollution.
Under the scheme, private petrol and diesel driven vehicles with odd registration numbers can ply on odd dates and those with even registration numbers on even dates.
The first phase of the scheme ran from January 1 to 15. The second phase will run from April 15 to 30.
