12 tigers dead in two MP national parks since June 2015

Bhopal, April 18 (IANS) As many as 12 tigers have died in the past 11 months in two national parks in Madhya Pradesh, forest department officials said on Monday. Among the dead, seven were hunted down.

Ravi Shrivastava, the principal chief conservator of forests-wildlife, said 10 tigers died in Pench while two have died in Bandhavgarh National Park since June 2015.

Five tigers died after injuries sustained in fights or due to old age, he said.

Seven tigers were hunted down, and till date, 27 people have been arrested for their alleged involvement.
