Guwahati, April 16 (IANS) A Druk Air flight to Bangkok carrying 90 passengers from Paro in Bhutan was grounded at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on Saturday after it was damaged by a hailstorm, officials said.
Airport Authority of India officials here said the aircraft was grounded due to bad weather.
"The aircraft was at the take-off point when the weather deteriorated. There was thunder, and hailstorms partially damaged the nose of the aircraft and there were dents on its wings and body," an official said.
An alternate flight was arranged later by the Druk Air authorities to ensure that the passengers reach their destination safely.
This was one of the weekly flights between Paro and Bangkok via Guwahati.
