Madrid, April 15 (IANS) Capital football club Atletico Madrid's midfielder Tiago Mendes of on Friday trained for the first time along with his teammates in four and a half months, after he fractured his right leg during then tie against Espanyol on November 28.
The Portuguese international trained with the rest of the squad, indicating that his recovery is going through its final phase, although he has not yet been declared fit, reports Efe.
Also joining the session was Uruguayan Jose Gimenez, whose muscular injury left him out of the last four matches.
This meant that head coach Diego Simeone had all players in the first team in training for the first time in several months.
The footballers trained one hour before the draw for the Champions League semi-finals.
